2026 Stevens-Down Endurance Race

2026 Stevens-Down Endurance Race, Poudre River, Bellvue, CO

Information

  • Pre-registration is encouraged due to limited space.
  • Intermediate to advanced paddlers.
  • The meetup location is the Poudre Park Community Center in Poudre Park, CO. The CC is next to the local Fire Department---do not park at or near the FD. There's ample parking in front and rear of the CC, as well as along Poudre Park Road—just be sure not to block driveways.
  • Check-in starts at 11:00 AM for orientation, confirmations, grouping and safety talks, directions and shuttle. We will head up 1:00-1:15 PM.
  • Launch starts at 2:00 PM. Please be orderly and considerate to others on the beach during the event.
  • The post-race meetup is scheduled around 5:00-6:00 PM to announce results and distribute awards.

 About the Race

  • This timed 10.5 mile, co-ed paddle race welcomes all boats under 9 feet whether old-school or modern. If you're looking for a challenge, bring your favorite boat and see how it performs against the competition. Prizes furnished by RMA.

Course Modification

  •  If water levels are too low or too high, the race may be moved to an alternate launch site, rescheduled, or cancelled for safety reasons.

What to Bring to the Community Center

  • Bring your own food and drink. We will provide bottled water and snacks. The CC has refrigerators and stove tops, but please note that alcohol is not allowed.

Equipment

  • All racers are responsible for bringing the required gear and ensuring it is in good working condition. Racers who arrive without the required equipment or with equipment deemed unsafe or unsuitable, may risk participation and forfeiture of payments. I know you know what to bring, but don't forget the whistle and throw bag.

Age Limitations

  • While the minimum age is 18, younger racers can participate with an accompanied adult and a minor's waiver. The adult will be considered as a volunteer safety boater.

Cost

  • While the race is a low-key event, there is still insurance and other expenses to cover to breakeven. Your nominal contribution is sharing in those expenses.

Waivers

  • All participants and volunteer staff and safety are required to sign both ACA and CPA waivers. Waivers are available on this site and at the meet-up.

🟨🟨🟨

  • The race is conducted in strict accordance with Canyon Lakes RD stipulations and the ACA-Insurance requirements. Their support is appreciated for the race and future events.

  • Also, without the assistance of Rocky Mountain Adventures, Poudre Paddlers of Northern Colorado, and the Poudre Park Community Center the event wouldn't be possible. So visit them and support your local businesses.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed as safety and timing crew, photographers, and administrative support. If you're interested in helping out with this exciting event, contact us below. You'll get complimentary merch, food, and a free drawing if held.

Notice to Visitors and Spectators

  • DON'T BE THIS PERSON!
  • Your presence during the race as a visitor and spectator is strongly discouraged. It creates additional congestion, distraction and makes an unsafe environment.
  • If you are in the canyon---for your safety and others, do not stop, slow down, pull over, or climb onto rocks or vegetation to watch the race. The narrow, winding road and hazardous shoreline create serious safety risks and congestion.
  • Forest Service day-use areas may offer viewing opportunities, but use them at your own risk.
  • If you do show up as an unsolicited spectator, click below to review the Spectator Liability Document before driving up. Thank you for your cooperation.
