We are not encouraging nor soliciting spectators to show up to watch the race along any part of the course.
Due to traffic, congestion, and safety concerns, please do not stop, slow down, pull off the main road, or walk/climb on rocks or vegetation to watch the race. The canyon is narrow, the road is winding, and these areas can be hazardous. PLEASE DO NOT PLAN ON SHOWING UP AS A SPECTATOR. Forest Service day-use areas may be available for viewing, but you do so at your own risk.
Now, here comes the serious stuff: If you choose to attend as an unsolicited spectator, you do so entirely at your own risk. By attending, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with your presence, including injury, death, or property damage, and agree to release, hold harmless, and indemnify the Canyon Paddlers Association and its sponsors, contributors, participants, volunteers, and any affiliated private, public, or governmental entities from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or injuries arising from or related to your presence at the event. You further waive any right of reimbursement or subrogation against these parties arising from your attendance or presence.
Be aware, we cannot provide medical services that is exclusively on standby for the event.
Sorry, but that is the way it is. I know it's enticing to visit the canyon and watch your favorite boater do their stuff, but for your safety, it is best to stay home or join us at the after-race party. Thank your for your cooperation.
